17th July 2025 Hiking - Walking: Around Ipswich Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Mainly cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered: Thursday 17th July - walks *** – Ipswich waterfront and Holywells Park including a picnci – mainly cloudy. Dropped Mag off for an appointment in Ipswich which gave me an hour to explore I headed down to the waterfront for a walk and take some weather pics. I ambelled along the quay past the Uni as the Victor, an old wooden barge left its berth and headed down towards the lock taking a load of kids:) I reached the old customs house only to see the Victor return and it was only a short trip, then then used the boats winches before leaving as another group waited to board. I alao spotted three more of the lovely big painted hares before heading back to the van. I picked Mag up and we drove the short distance to Holywells park for a nice walk and a picnic by the lake just down from the stables which we shared with a few ducks, a moorhen, a rat , a gull, several magpies and a crow! We then took the scenic route back through Levington before spending a very pleasant afternoon with our neighbours having a good catch-up over a cuppa and cake! Photo Album here |
